Becoming a Sporty Horse

Mum says I am going to be a sporty horse.

Spoon is not sure how he feels about this.

From what I understand so far…

  • Sporty horses have to trot trot fast
  • Sporty horses have to canter with the correct foot out front
  • Sporty horses get lots of grooming
  • Sporty horses have weird tack
  • Sporty horses have to go flexy bendy soooooooooooooo much

Spoon hates flexy bendy!  But I do look nice in my new sporty horse tack – can’t you see Spoon as next SmartPak cover model?

Mum said I am going to a new barn next month that specializes in sporty horses.  She said it will be more work for me (booo) but that I will get my very own spoony stall and she will get me some toys for it (yay toys!).

We will see.  I am still skeptical on sporty horse stuff.

Gnarly Cankle Hairs

My mom said I had “Gnarly Cankle Hairs” and that she needed to do something about it.

I told her those were my beautiful draft feathers.

She said Belgians didn’t have feathers.

I said that I was still working on growing them.

She said I was 9 years old, and would have had feathers by now… so I gave up.

These were the offending cankle hairs.  I guess it’s really easy to get rid of cankle hairs.  Mum just took this buzzy thing that gave me a leg message, and sat on the ground near my feat and massaged my legs for a while.  I really liked it.  She was so busy with my legs that I could explore things under the covered porch.

I founda metal chair that I could wiggle around with my big draft horse lips.  I founda empty trash can that I could wiggle around with my draft horse lips.  I even founda scented candle that I could sniff and wiggle around with my big draft horse lips.  It smelled like Christmas!

At the end, this is what we were left with.

I think they look nekkid, but mum said the hair will blend back evenly in a few weeks.  In the meantime, I won’t get huge clumps of mud on my formerly draft horse feathers when it rains… and I guess that will be more comfortable to walk around in.

Spoon is bigger than… – a series

I, most awesome draft horse of the world, like being big.  It is one of my favorite things.  I like to look at the little horses, and tell them how small they are.

Mum says this is rude and that I should go talk to the Percheron driving horses at the back of the farm.  She said they are REAL draft horses, and I am just a cross… but I never met my dad so all I know about my bloodlines is BELGIAN AWESOMENESS.  Haha to you mom!

I am bigger than this pony.  Husband thinks this pony looks like Spoon, and calls him mini Spoon.  I think I am much handsomer, but he is a nice old pony.

I is bigger than this mini pony.  HAHA mini pony, you can’t eat these grasses!

Going to have mum continue to document my bigness.  I would say I’m bigger than her, but she says she has to be alpha mare so I pretend she is big and strong even though she is easy to fling around if I wanted to.
